Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She covers everything, from NASA and Space Force, Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of space tourism. Kristin was born into the space sector as the grandchild and daughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years, she's been covering space policy under the Trump and Biden Administrations in FOX News. In that period, Kristin was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president and the 2020 presidential election and efforts by two administrations to combat the Coronavirus pandemic. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Before becoming a part of the company in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up in local TV news stations which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her skills behind the camera back in the year 2014. Field Mouse Films specialized in producing documentaries for corporate clients including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned a bachelors in Science in journalism from Boston University. Kristin is married with a daughter, and their 3-year-old daughter in Washington, D.C.
